It's Not About Me

This evening before he was heading off to bed, Jason was talking to me about all sorts of things (mostly about the Stargate Atlantis episode we watched this evening with a storyline that really fascinated him - they found out that the online game they had been playing actually controlled real people on a real world). Normally, I try to give him my attention, but I was really tired and he was just talking on and on and I just could not find it in me.

I apologized to him and said that I really was just too tired to follow everything that he was saying. He said that was fine, it did not really matter if I was listening…and continued right on talking…

This is what happens when you combine a “morning person” mom with a “night owl” kid (who likes to process things by talking).

I think it is time for bed…
