Book retreats are amazing

When you get a chance to go on a book retreat, do it! Especially if it is hosted by Lisa from Bookshelf on Church and organized by Christi (Verdancy Retreats).

Beyond The Bookshelf: A Readers Retreat

Simply a perfect way to spend my birthday weekend—in the Northern Neck of Virginia at the beautiful Hope & Glory Inn with a multigenerational group of 10 fascinating women. We joked on Saturday that we’d been having so much fun getting to know each other that we hadn’t had time to read!

I especially enjoyed the three Virginia authors, Elle Cosimano, Olivia Blacke, and Audrey Ingram, who joined us for dinner to talk about writing and being an author:

Thanks so much to Lisa for sharing her bookstore, her home and her incredible town with us. My Want to Read list & my To Read pile are better for it and the experience was a welcome balm to the craziness of our world right now.
