Welcome!

I am a liberal-minded homeschool mom who is constantly trying to find that elusive state of balance in my life while enjoying my two energetic, yet vastly different boys.

Our wisdom is all mixed up with what we call our neurosis. Our brilliance, our juiciness, our spiciness, is all mixed up with our craziness and our confusion, therefore it doesn’t do any good to try to get rid of our so-called negative aspects, because in that process we also get rid of our basic wonderfulness.

Quick Blog Update

Just wanted to give folks a heads up that I added a new category called "New to Homeschooling?". I have used it to collect some of my posts that might be helpful to folks who are just starting out. There are some posts on deschooling, on lessons learned and other general advice for newbies.

Can I take a moment and say that I really love organizing my blog? I swear I get giddy when I start thinking about how best to set up my categories...I know, I am a geek (and a left-brained one at that)! Definitely check out my categories section (under Previous Thoughts in the sidebar). While I have been reorganizing I have come across some posts that I had forgotten about completely. So you might find something interesting! Organizing (and re-organizing) will be an ongoing job...be sure to check back.

I am also slowly working on getting all my pictures back to displaying properly. When I imported my blog from Homeschool Journal, the photos did not import correctly. Luckily it is not a hard problem to fix (since they still exist on Flickr), just a little bit tedious. But I am working on it.

Who knew the power of suggestion was so strong in us left-brainers. Now I want to go organize my categories. Sheesh!

Hmm...well, if you ever get tired of organizing your categories, maybe you could organize mine? Because I am so right-brained that I became a case study for one of my professors who didn't think people like me should do well in school.

Topsey-Techie: hehehe...that was all part of the plan...must categorize...must reorganize! I think that may be one reason I love technology...I can tag my photos, I can categorize by blog posts, I can organize my book (librarything.com)...shoot I recently started using del.i.cous and I can now even tag my links! The possibilities are endless.

Dana: LOL! You are kidding! Actually the funny thing is that as much as I love organizing my blog etc, I am actually a very cluttery person in real life. I have tons of stuff and am not really good at organizing it. So in that way, my left-brained-ness has failed me. Maybe because it is too hard to keep it that way? WIth my tech stuff, once it is organized, I don't have to worry about keeping it that way.
