We hardly ever watch TV so the commercials don't bother me, it's the catalogues, the tonnes and tonnes of catalogues that drive me crazy and the incessant Christmas muzak in the stores. Costco started playing it weeks ago.

The thing that pushed me over the edge this year was when we were in our local drugstore, on 9-21 (i remember exactly as it was 2 days after my dd's birthday) and she wanted to get her Halloween costume as there were less than a dozen choices left on the shelf - more than a month before Halloween! - I said fine as they were also marked down already - I thought that was weird enough at the time, but then I remember coming around the corner, only half paying attention to where I was going and slamming into a sales person setting up an end-cap display of Christmas stockings!!!
Half a dozen local radio stations are also already blaring the Christmas tunes 24/7. Can they shove it down our throats any quicker!
