Welcome!

I am a liberal-minded homeschool mom who is constantly trying to find that elusive state of balance in my life while enjoying my two energetic, yet vastly different boys.

Our wisdom is all mixed up with what we call our neurosis. Our brilliance, our juiciness, our spiciness, is all mixed up with our craziness and our confusion, therefore it doesn’t do any good to try to get rid of our so-called negative aspects, because in that process we also get rid of our basic wonderfulness.

Let Summer Begin!

Well, we made it to the beach today...summer can officially begin! For those of you who do not know, we are lucky enough to have our own place in Ocean City, Maryland and for the past 3 summers have spent from mid-June until mid-September here at the beach (yes, I know how very lucky we are!) The previous years we would come down for two weeks at a time (I was not ready to be on my own when the boys were younger). This will be our 9th year coming down (up?) here.

Jack has already been over to play, we have eaten at one of our favorite places, Anthony's (awesome roast beef sandwiches!) and we are about half unpacked.

If you are curious about our place, I found some pictures I posted of the place a couple of years ago. You can also see more posts from past years under the Beach Adventures category (also on the sidebar). Funny sidenote...when I was searching for the link to the pictures, I noticed a post that talked about how we were reading Physik by Angie Sage on the way down to the beach last year. Coincidently, the book that we were listening to this time was Queste by Angie Sage! The Septimus Heap series is definitely one of our favorites...I highly recommend it!

The great thing with the internet is that you will never even notice that we are no longer at home! Now I just need to look into to getting us a VOIP phone...I usually just use my cell phone down here, but the boys have lately started talking with their friends a bit more and I don't want them to run up my cell phone bill. WIth the VOIP phones I should be able to sign up for 3 months of service, hopefully.

It is getting late, so I am going to post this. More later!
